How we as activists can identify and resist pressure to compromise our deepest values
Conference Center at U of Pitt-Johnstown

Open to attendees of the 2015 Vegetarian Summerfest conference, happening July 8-12. Exact date & time of this talk TBD.
Social justice advocates often experience pressure to trade away their principles, and even their own peace of mind and integrity, in order to achieve a perceived sense of success in their work for change. Are those who insist on standing by their principles self-involved purists, or are they the most pragmatic of all? What is the step by step process of “selling out,” and how can activists identify whether they are going down a counterproductive path, falling prey to a destructive dynamic? How might our own lives, and the future of our society, be transformed if we learn to bring greater integrity to our thoughts, words, and deeds?
